I wanted to put together some WALKING treadmill workouts. Walking is a great choice for cardio, especially during certain seasons of life. Pregnancy and postpartum included!
Why? It is lower impact than running. This is very important when there is growing baby putting pressure on your pelvic floor and postpartum when your pelvic floor is healing. Throw in the relaxin hormone that is relaxing your ligaments putting you at increased risk for injuries and discomfort (still present after baby) and walking just might be your best choice. Walking is great for everyone and might be your perfect choice if you are just starting a fitness routine.
It can certainly still make you sweat and get your heart pumping especially if you add in intervals and incline. This will be a series of workouts, just like the Beat the Boredom running treadmill series I did last year.
