Special Friday post because I just had to share this beautiful story.
As many of you know my job is on a Oncology/Hematology/Bone Marrow Transplant/Palliative Care Floor at UW Hospital. Typically when someone asks what type of nurse I am, I tell them “I work on a cancer floor.” That is usually followed by, “I don’t know how you do that, that has to be so hard.”
It is hard + there are terribly sad stories. But, it is also beautiful + I get to meet + take care of the sweetest patients. Not to mention I work with the most kind hearted people that you could imagine.
I wrote Lesson in Love about incredible love stories/lessons I’ve learned from my patients. I continuously have stories to add + just this week I met a young mom that exudes love for her children + husband. 😉 This news story is another one and as the patient Denise in the story says, “love heals.”
I’ll let you watch the news story about this special lady + special couple. Congrats Denise + Bob!
Proud of all my co-workers + UW Hospital for giving them such a special day + providing truly excellent care.
Have a great weekend! Ames
