Happy Wednesday friends!
After working a day shift + going on a walk afterward, I’m putting my feet up for the night. Drew is outside taking care of the lawn, so I thought I would put the finishing touches on this post + get it up!
I wanted to review some workout clothes that I’ve purchased or had gifted recently. I’m a huge believer in quality + attractive workout clothes. If your gear is staying in the right place + looks good…your motivation to workout isn’t going to be compromised. I practically live in workout clothes, so when I’m purchasing them I know that they’ll get a lot of use.
When shopping online sizes I always a) look at the size chart, b) read reviews of the sizing, c) check out the model specs if available + what size she is wearing. I typically can nail what size I need (perhaps this is from too much experience).
Here is what I’m loving lately:
I think Kate Hudson is THE most adorable woman in the world + the perfect woman to be the spokesperson for an athletic line. I’ve seen Fabletics advertised for a while now + had even taken the style quiz in the past…but, never took the plunge. Finally, I just thought…why not? I’m always willing to give new brands a try + I’m glad I did. I really love the variety of clothing that they have + the fact that the price point does fall below some of my favorite brands (Athleta + Lululemon). It is nice that they make suggestions, but also allow you to browse all items for yourself. After all, I do know my body + style best. I signed up to be a VIP. VIPs also get special pricing, free shipping, easy returns, + outfits picked out and sent to your email each month. One of the best parts about the VIP program is the ability to skip months (every month if you want to!) + continue on. I skipped this month (I somehow knew Drew’s present was going to be athletic clothing…haha, we believe in hints over here!). I received a couple email reminders, including a “this is your last day to skip” email. If you forget, you simply get a credit that you can use right away or in the future.
I was so pleased with my first order that I decided to become a part of their affiliate program! Sign up to be a VIP here:
Leggings: Caicos Tight Womens Black Size M. It’s an interesting time for me to be ordering clothing since I’m SO pregnant. BUT, the leggings fit well! They are flattering + made of quality material. I love the have a unique detail.
Ellie Bra Womens Orange Size M Most comfortable sports bra I’ve ever owned! SO perfect. I’m not going to use this one for running (it was clearly stated it was medium support), but I would definitely wear it to lift, to yoga, or around the house.
Tank Top: Femina Top Womens Black Size M I knew there was no way that this would fit right now. I did put it on + I’m so excited to wear it post baby! It’s funny how short clothes are when you have a huge bump! I definitely wear workout clothes around the house or to run errands, so it’s nice to have something that can easily transition between tasks. I love open back.
I just saw my best friend/sister-in-law Michelle + she had on a complete Fabletics outfit! I asked her where it was from right away because it was so stylish + cute. Such a coincidence that we ordered right around the same time! Luckily she was a super good sport + modeled her outfit for BalancedAmes readers. You know it is a good friend if she’ll do pushups on command.
One of my favorite big time bloggers Blawnde suggested Carbon38. Some of their stuff is a bit too revealing + crazy for me, but there are some great options! It’s nice because they have LOTS of different brands in one place. I was just swooning over the “Best Sellers” tab.
Leggings: These are the Beyond Yoga Calf Striped Cut-Out Capri Leggings. Mine are a medium for reference. 😉
Lululemon is a tested + true brand for me. I purchased my first Lululemon pieces when I lived in Chicago (more than 5 years ago) + still have those pieces. At work one night I was wearing the first Define Jacket I purchased in Chicago + my coworker said, “is that new?”. I said no, this is vintage Lululemon. They really do hold up, especially if you don’t dry them as instructed. Drew gifted me this beautiful new Lululemon Define Jacket for Mother’s Day. I now own 4 of the same zip ups! I just love these. They are flattering, comfortable, + I can throw them on whenever. I wanted a bolder color this time around + love this raspberry color. In the tops I get a size 6 or 8 for reference (this one is an 8).
A lot of the tanks you see me in are the Athleta Chi Tank. I’m kind of obsessed because they are super comfortable + long enough. They somehow are still fitting over my bump! I wear a size small.
