Hi friends! Happy Thursday.
Tomorrow I start a long stretch of nursing shifts on, so I’m making sure to enjoy every minute of this time off. This is why you are getting an evening blog post 🙂 The good news is after this stretch Drew + I will be headed on our babymoon (yes, babymoons are a thing). We leave next Thursday for a week in Kauai, Hawaii. We cannot wait for the time together + to enjoy the things we have planned.
I utilized the weekdays off catching up with friends + spending time with Drew. I want to make sure to soak in the pre-baby time because it is my understanding that you get just a little bit busier. 😉
I had initially started to write a blog about comparison. You’ll see that on Tuesday, as I wanted more time to finish it up and give it the proper final touches. I thought…why not just show them what has been taking up my blogging time?
In January I decided to purchase a camera. Up to this point I’ve been using my iPhone 6 for all images that you see. I desired higher quality images not only the blog, but also for the beautiful vacation we have coming up and of course the BABY. I consulted with my artsy + intelligent younger sister and we decided on a camera together. I love beautiful images, but I really don’t have time for another hobby. I needed something easy to use. This Samsung WB1100F 16.2MP CCD Smart WiFi & NFC Digital Camera with 35x Optical Zoom, 3.0″ LCD and 720p HD Video (Black)
was perfect. At 16.2 megapixels is has double the resolution as the iPhone. One feature that I completely fell in love with right away was the Wi-Fi setting. I simply downloaded a Samsung SMART CAMERA app onto my phone, put the camera into Wi-Fi setting and…POOF I can select any photo that I took with the camera and directly upload it onto my phone. Perfect for blogging or sharing pictures on social media. My friend + I were talking over lunch about how this is a great “beginner” camera, as you can practice with the settings but also fall back on auto feature if you want.
Krystle + Brooke (my sister + niece) coming into town was the perfect opportunity to take it out for a spin. We went to my favorite trails and snapped some pictures of the two of them. As the momma, Krystle is behind the camera a lot of the time. It was special to have her in front of it with her precious babe.
Today I went with my friend Carrie + her baby (aka puppy) Zula to this awesome dog park in Verona. One thing I learned is that it is AMAZINGLY hard to catch good pictures of a rambunctious puppy.
Hope you have a great weekend everyone!!!!! Love, Ames
