Today, I wanted to share a quick story about my friend Julia. As many of you know by now I sell AdvoCare and I’m all about their products! I’ve been on them for years now and have never felt better. I shared AdvoCare with Julia because she kept talking about how she wanted to lose weight, and I wanted to help get her to a healthier place 🙂
She didn’t have a whole lot of extra money, but I told her to invest in Spark, the Herbal Cleanse, and Meal Replacement Shakes. I also talked to her a lot about how to improve her diet and gave her some really basic tips for preparing food. This was back in February.
Fast forward to today. I asked her to write a paragraph for a new section I started on the blog called Success Stories. It is under the AdvoCare drop down menu. I was blown away by what she said, so I thought I’d share it:
Julia: Where do I begin? The 10 day challenge has changed my life. That sounds dramatic, but it’s true. Before I had started it I was extremely unhappy with my weight and my eating habits were horrible (all the night shifters can attest to that). I was essentially eating out for every meal and had no sense of portion control, not to mention I was inhaling soda at an absurd rate so that I could stay awake for night shift. I was in a rut and I didn’t know where to start so I talked to Amy and she suggested that I do the 10 day cleanse, start drinking Spark, and using the Meal Replacement Shakes. Amy was a great coach and would check in with me every day of the cleanse to ask how it was going and making sure I was staying on track. During the cleanse I stopped drinking soda, juice, coffee and drank the Mango Strawberry Spark instead. My meal portions were healthy and I was eating fresh food, no more fast food 🙂 It was definitely hard for my body to adjust, but I stuck to it and at the end of the cleanse I had lost a few pounds. It was just the motivation I needed to get back into shape! I felt a million times better and I started to crave healthy foods like sugar snap peas, instead of Doritos 😉 My first cleanse was in the spring and I just finished up my second cleanse a few weeks ago. Since I began this journey to a healthier me I have lost over 25 pounds. It helped to have such an awesome support system, I seriously could not have done it without my awesome night shift ladies!
I think it is important to point out that the weight didn’t just start falling off. In fact, I remember her getting frustrated because she made this huge changes and “only lost a few pounds” after the 10 Day Cleanse. I told her that a few pounds was a huge success in 10 days, and to make weight loss healthy and sustainable…this is about what she could expect. Thank goodness she trusted the process enough to keep going because now she is down OVER 25 POUNDS! Congrats girl!
If you are on a weight loss journey or want to begin one, remember to be patient with yourself and remember you are doing it to become a healthier person. Eating healthy doesn’t have an end point, so you just keep going once you hit your goal 🙂 Julia and I did her second 10 day cleanse together, it’s great to have someone to check in with and encourage me along the way.
Julia is a great example of changing her lifestyle. She is still going strong with her AdvoCare products to help her 🙂 Now I’m just trying to help her get on the workout train! That’s right, she has lost all of this weight and has yet to add workouts. Since that is vital to her health too, I’m giving her gentle pushes towards action.
