Jill: Thanks, Amy! Let’s see … I am a 27-year old mommy of a 1-year old and wife to a great guy for going on 3 years now. We live in Green Bay where we are both working to grow start-up companies while sharing AdvoCare part-time. My priorities in life are God, family, and living a healthy lifestyle.
A: You look amazing! What is your best advice to mom’s about getting back in shape after having a baby?
Jill: Thanks, lady! First, I’d actually recommend doing your best to stay in shape during pregnancy. I kept up my workout regimen, going to the gym at least 4 days a week. As my belly grew, I modified things – but I never stopped working out. I felt great during pregnancy and when I was in labor and pushing, the nurse actually said “you can tell you worked out – you’re making this look easy!” It definitely made it easier to get back into the gym afterwards, too. A: Amazing! I’m taking notes over here for the future.
And of course – keep up the healthy eating habits during pregnancy. Your growing baby will appreciate the healthy food. And I always reminded myself that eating for two doesn’t mean eating for two grown adults, though there were some days I think I did. A: Yes! I learned during my perinatal certification (I can safely train pregnant women), that the sedentary momma only needs 300 extra calories/day.
MAKE YOURSELF A PRIORITY. I think a lot of moms skip their workouts because they feel they deserve to devote that time to their kiddos. If you can get away, do it. Staying fit and healthy will allow you to be a better mommy and you deserve that time to yourself. Plus, you’ll set a good example for them too!
I, of course, took AdvoCare products both during pregnancy and while nursing to help give me the energy I needed for my new lifestyle and lose the baby weight.
A: From our conversations, I know that you are able to stay at home with your little girl now. Tell me more about what AdvoCare has done for you and your family?
Jill: Yes – I’ve been able to stay home with Kinley since we brought her home from the hospital and it is an absolute blessing. AdvoCare has done a ton for our family … it has made health a priority in our lives. Ever since I put the first product in my body and felt great, there was no turning back. Taking great products is now just a piece of the puzzle along with eating healthy, making exercise a priority and growing spiritually.
We’ve also been able to make a nice extra income with AdvoCare that continues to grow. We’ve always loved products ourselves and we knew that people were making an honest income with AdvoCare. So two years ago, we decided to get intentional and share the products and the opportunity with more people.
Simply by helping people feel great and earn income, I was able to quit my job in advertising and move back home to help my brother with his start-up company — which consists of helping nonprofit groups. So now I spend about 10 hours a week on AdvoCare, help nonprofits, and spend the rest of the time making memories with my daughter and hubby. It’s pretty great 🙂
A: What is your favorite AdvoCare product?
Jill: That’s hard. I’m going to go with the obvious … Spark. A: refer to my Spark post. It gives me the same energy today that I got from it 7 years ago. Now that I’m a mom, I fully understand why they call it “happy mama’s juice”!
Post-Workout Recovery is pretty great too … tastes like brownie batter and helps my body recover from Joe’s crazy workouts.
A: What does your workout life look like? Does your personal trainer husband give you tips?
Jill: My hubby is actually my trainer … so I guess you could say he gives me lots of tips. I typically work out 4 days a week at his gym. We do strength circuits, so it changes up a lot. They consist of Olympic weightlifting, kettlebells, body weight, med balls, LOTS of burpees, rowing … and the list goes on. I personally think it’s a lot of fun but some may think it’s torture. It sure beats the boring elliptical and treadmill that I used to do in college! (A lot better results, too). A: Yes! I try to keep emphasizing the importance of lifting weights.
A: Favorite healthy snack? Meal?
Jill: Strawberries with almond butter or Meal Replacement Shakes are great for my sweet tooth. For a meal … anything that includes sweet potatoes and bacon. We cook a lot of those in our house! A: My love of sweet potatoes and Meal Replacement Shakes are both deep.
A: Kinley is over a year now?! What is the best part about being a momma?
Jill: On her first birthday, she actually gave me a legitimate hug and I just hugged her and cried (happy tears, of course!). So I’d have to say it’s watching her grow into a little human … developing a personality and the cutest (and funniest) mannerisms. A: Cutest answer 🙂 Thanks again Jill!
Jill and I have been texting/chatting a lot lately! We have a shared passion for the Lord, and helping people get healthier. I’m excited to continue growing our friendship. Please reach out and ask any questions you have about AdvoCare via email: email@example.com.
