I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone that has stopped by to read this blog. I’ve had so many friends, co-workers, family members (even my dad and brother), friends from the fitness industry, even strangers give me positive feedback on BalancedAmes! I’m so humbled and so thankful for all of those that reached out.
Few of my favorite examples of BalancedAmes inspiring people:
“Ahhh girl, have I told you how amazing you are???? Thank you so much for sharing your blog. I just sat here and read ALL of it. You are inspiring and I am thankful for you.“ -fellow nurse, who just kicked a really heavy soda habit (she said she thought of my so often during her hard days 🙂 ) So proud of her!
I had a different co-worker stop me and tell me how she hasn’t worked out for a while, but after reading the workout buddies post she was so inspired that she got moving. Get it girl!
Also, I’m currently helping 2 co-workers through their AdvoCare challenges. Both are feeling great and are super dedicated. One just told me she has lost 10 pounds since February by changing her eating habits and doing the 10 day AdvoCare Cleanse. She makes me so proud, and she knows it! She promised to do an interview with me about her weight loss journey.
This is exactly why I wanted to do this blog. Not for the praise, but if I could just inspire people to be more conscious of their health (whether through working out, eating better, improving work/life balance, growing in faith, sleeping more…). The body we live in gets a one time shot, and I don’t want to be living in a run-down version of myself…I hope you don’t either! I recently told my husband the blog has inspired my training and eating too, so we’re in this together. 🙂
I wanted to share a few updates today!
Most exciting update: My gorgeous, positive, healthy friend Monique (read her interview here) just welcomed her son Matthew into the world. I cannot even handle this family’s cuteness and I cannot wait to meet him! He was a stubborn little guy, but she stayed strong for 30 hours with no epidural (whoa.)…congrats to Mo and her husband Paul.
Update on the blog: BalancedAmes has very exciting things coming up. The interview series has been my favorite because it shows you the ways that others are keeping themselves healthy and fit. If you pick up a tip or are inspired by each person in some way, that is my goal. I have loved the interviews so far and have some awesome people coming up. I’m inspired by each one, so stay tuned for those.
Also, if you’ve haven’t noticed I will be posting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday including one interview post a week! I always want to keep fresh inspiration coming, so if you have an idea or something you want to know about…reach out and ask. I will also randomly post AdvoCare product spotlights and recipes. I want to be consistent with you guys, so I’m putting that out there.
Update on my training: Personally, I’m training hard for the spring and summer seasons that seem to be slowly creeping into my Wisconsin life (minus the NEW snow we got Monday and this morning, boo). I’m excited to do CrazyLegs with a few girlfriends! Friends who workout and enjoy being healthy = amazing + a blessing in my life. I’ll need to start running a bit more as I’ve been lifting a lot lately (getting that tone on). Let me just disclose that when I race, I like to race fast. Everyone has different goals though, so if you are in it to finish it…power to you too!
Update on other exciting things: I am going to get re-certified as a personal trainer!!!!! I let my certification slip in the chaos of going back to nursing school (there are continuing education requirements to be met). It’s in my heart though, and I love working with people to get them healthier + teaching group fitness classes. I will keep you guys posted about this progress.
I’m also studying for an oncology exam. I want to be the best nurse possible for my sweet patients, and I know that growing my knowledge base will help that. I’m a bookworm at heart, so I’m actually really excited to get going on this. It’s time to set an intentional plan and timeline for both exams. Intentional is my buzz word of 2015 if you haven’t noticed.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Just one more night-shift 12 for me and I’m off for the weekend! I cannot wait for the Badgers sweet 16 appearance. Having some friends over + making them a healthy dinner…perfect start to the weekend.
