I’m so excited to start BalancedAmes as a way to share my passion for health and fitness!
What’s in the name? Balanced: America’s glorification of “busy” (great article: here), not into it. I have found that I’m becoming better at not over-committing myself and prioritizing the things that mean the most. Often people fill their plates to the brim and then get stressed about how busy they are. This typically translates into skimping on sleep, eating whatever is convenient, skipping workouts, and putting stress on relationships. As a personal trainer, the number one excuse that my clients gave me for unhealthy choices or skipping workouts was a time crunch. On this blog I hope to inspire others and myself to find balance.
Ames: It is what the people closest to me call me. It feels like home.
